In recent golf wear market, the preference about functionality of materials, diverse kinds of designs, exercise functionality, comfort feelings have been improved gradually. As customers’ expectancy about their wear has been improved, new functional materials, pattern development required. And technical basis and effort should be required to fast moving customer’s needs, the improvement of sport ability. Therefore, both functionality and fashionable point in golf wear design should be fulfilled to improve the sales of it effectively, so golf wear is a good example to make this essay is well performed.

As for the study method of this research, the historical background of golf wear and the function nature of golf wear were studied simply, by referring to every kind of literature, periodicals and web site. And, so as to grasp the modern golf market trend and situation, the investigation of golf wear trend ran paralleled. So, for consumption action and fashion consciousness about modern golf wear analysis was performed.

In the case of male, it started to simplify at the middle of 19th century. And the separation of daily dress and sportswear was made, and the casual atmosphere got to be fostered since the World War 1, On the other hand, in case of female, it was not until the middle part of the 20th century that the comfortable dress such as the skirt of short length was made.

Now a days, the remarkable feature of golf wear is that the utilized range of golf wear has been extended, as golf wear has been regarded as daily wear combined leisure wear concept. My design concept is chosen to follow and coincide with fashion trend.
Works have their motives in the modification of golf wear sports functions, body protection function.
First, as taking into consideration the area near armhole, the back, waist line which are likely to move more frequently than any other parts, the basic characteristics when designing a golf wear, the comfortable function of dart or pleats are introduced in order to reinforce modern energetic people.

Second, the wear design by opening and closing zippers make two or three suits out of one suit, focusing on the trend of modern fashion which attaches great importance to function and utility. For example, through, the possibility of attaching and separating some part of golf wear, jacket and skirt can transform one-piece, Tuttle sweater can be modified long sweater, and if a sleeve is separated from body of garment by using zipper,
Jacket can be modified to vest. One piece of wear can perform function of two pieces of garment , so we can expect the volume of sales in golf wear market.

Third,. the pieces of work turn out to fit in with the attractiveness of women by expanding and emphasing the part of transformation with other functional materials applied classic and formal design, which can create high value added.

Simply, I would like to design golf wear satisfied with functionality and visual esthetic through the effect of opening and closing zipper, to express this feature.
The effect of opening and closing zipper can lead to garment’s formative modification, as well as various kinds of functionality can be fulfilled and create new kinds of skill related to silhouette changeable design wear in order to keep up with on-off concept wear which can be modified from sportswear to wear equipped at multipurpose practicality and fashionable image. AS described above, functionality, comfort, and ornamental effects can be added.

To sum up, as the result of research, temperature change the outside and environmental condition is deeply related to choice of materials in golf wear. because, golf is sports enjoying on the field outdoor.
Basically, water vapor permeance, ventilation property, anti foaling, wind shiend, water proof, perspiration, comfort sensation is essential for the function of golf wear. According to each items, proper functional materials should be chosen to enhance wear’s functionality.

Mystique
Mystique (the shape shifter): this dress changes shape and length during the course of an evening. While in the beginning the dress is pale gray, knee length and has a soft padded surface, at the end of the night it becomes long and smooth, revealing a new color.

The system
The Mystique dress reaches 5 main positions during the elongation process. In the morning is knee length, then the top half starts unfolding very slowly until the whole dress reaches the ground, that happens in 4 steps. The color change happens because the dress is a fabric cylinder folded inside-out. When is short and folded shows the grey side and when unfolds reveals the red side of the fabric. The fabric is embroidered with mother of pearl, metallic sequins and small magnets. When the dress is folded the magnets hold the metallic sequins, and when the timer reaches the specific hour these magnets release the sequin they were holding and the fabric unfolds.

The aesthetic appearance of the Mystique dress is inspired by the fascinating long evening gowns from the 40s and 50s seen in black and white movies. It is really rare to see women wearing long dresses, there is this idea that the occasion must be exceedingly formal to dare wear one. With mystique we wanted to give women the opportunity to transform into a sophisticated lady without feeling “guilty” because the dress is preprogrammed and you cannot stop it!











Skirteleon
Skirteleon (skirt chameleon): this skirt changes color and pattern according to the wearer’s activities and mood.

The Skirteleon is manufactured with a context aware laminated textile that changes color on-demand, upon user interaction or alternatively during the course of a predefined time period. The Skirteleon primary color state is blue, but upon user interaction could present diverse colors and patterns. When a user interacts with the Skirteleon, through touch or preprogramming, the fabric color changes from blue to animal characters or geometric patterns both red on a white background. The garment is designed to allow a user to transform her style during the course of a day out, allowing for easily adapting to different contexts and situations, such as work meetings, a walk in the city, a night out, enhancing the style of the wearer.

The Skirteleon is a playful solution designed for busy and active women that need to rush between meetings and be efficient during the day, but also like to look stylish and fresh if an early dinner appointment does not allow to go home and change.






Kinetic Dress








The system
The KineticDress is sewn of an elastic textile embedded with sensors that follows closely the body of the wearer. The sensors are able to capture the wearer’s movements and interaction with others and display this data through the electroluminescent embroidery that covers the external skirt section of the dress. Depending on the amount and speed of the wearer’s movement the electroluminescent embroidery changes pattern, displaying the wearer’s mood to the audience and creating a magic halo around her.The algorithmic program that controls the KineticDress is designed to follow the pace of the wearer: a still pose, when sitting alone shows a black dress, when the wearer starts moving and interacting with others the dress slowly lights up with a blue-circles pattern that moving creates a magic halo around the wearer.

PLEAT is a collection of garments featuring hand-made heat-formed textiles. The collection features a waterproof jacket, with a layer of pleated organza covering a sleeve and part of the front, a pleated dress where the pleats can be reversed to make the dress more or less tight on the body, and a skirt, embroidered with heat-formed pockets. The heat-formed textiles reatain their shape even when they are stressed by daily use of the garments or after
